Shruthi Kezhakepuram Purushotham is a distinguished traditional dancer renowned for her mastery and innovative approach to Mohiniyattam. Shruthi's journey in dance began with Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Guru Ashok Kumar. A significant turning point in her career came when she became a disciple of Guru Nirmala Paniker, with whom she continues to study and refine her craft.
She holds a 'Contemporary and Mixed Media' diploma from the internationally acclaimed Attakalari Centre for Movement Arts, a postgraduate degree in dance from Bharathi Dasan University, and an English degree from Bengaluru University. As a graded artist of Doordarshan and a recipient of the Junior Fellowship for outstanding artists in Mohiniyattam by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in 2019, Shruthi's credentials are a testament to her dedication and skill.
In addition to her dance practice, Shruthi is a certified assistant professor of dance and a published author. Her children's book, "Mohini Made Friends," creatively introduces Mohiniyattam to young readers through a captivating narrative.
Shruthi heads the Taamara Dance Centre, where she teaches, trains, and produces artists in Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam. She is also the founder and managing trustee of the Taamara Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting art employability and its propagation.
